What happened to the name "Reno Soap Co."?
Reno Soap Co. still exists as a subsidiary entity of Ambrosia Rabbit Creations, which is the legal name of the business now. Reno Soap Co. is the granddaddy of it all! Changing our name has allowed us to expand across the great state of Nevada and beyond. Don't worry- we're still committed to delivering the same quality that you came to know and love from the very beginning.
What are your soaps made with?
All of our hand soaps are made with either goat's milk or glycerine base. Both are known for their skin-nourishing and moisturizing properties. Their gentleness makes them suitable for use for all skin types, especially those with sensitive skin conditions. Our soaps are not made with any harsh alcohols or chemicals like the store-bought variety is. Store-bought soaps are very irritating and drying on the skin and increase sensitivity to allergies. Our commitment to using only botanical and natural ingredients ensures that our products are made with the finest ingredients that will make your skin feel like it's been washed in a fresh Sierra rainshower!
What's so special about glycerine?
Glycerine is known as a natural humectant, which attracts humidity from the atmosphere. The glycerine will continue to attract humidity even after it is used on the skin, leaving your skin feeling soft and refreshed.
What’s so special about Goat’s Milk?
The milk itself contains several nutrients which are beneficial to the skin, including vitamins A and D. Goat’s Milk soap is renowned for its rich, creamy lather and moisturizing properties. It can be used for all skin types. Individuals with skin ailments (psoriasis, acne, etc.) and sensitive skin can benefit from the use of Goat’s Milk soap.
Who should try using a glycerine-based soap?
If you have ever used a brand name soaps that make your skin feel dry or irritated, then you might like to try glycerine-based soap. Most brand-name soaps remove the glycerine from their products and substitute it with chemicals that can be harsh or drying.
OMG, my soap is "sweating"!
Due to glycerine's humectant nature, it occasionally has the habit of "sweating" (particularly if it goes unused for a while), which is simply the appearance of small beads of water on the surface of the soap. Rest assured, nothing is wrong with your soap- this "sweating" habit is proof that the glycerine is present! It doesn not harm the quality of your soap and is perfectly safe to use.
Can I keep my soap from sweating?
Yes... use it! Additionally, we package our soap immediately after the cooling process is complete, in order to keep our soap fresh and to minimize "sweating". We recommend keeping your soap in its original packaging until you are ready to use it.
What about animal testing?
Reno Soap Co. has a zero tolerance policy on animal testing. None of our products, or the products from any of our suppliers, use animal testing. Keeping a high-quality line of cruelty-free products remains a steadfast commitment that we take very seriously.
